Feb. 17, 2014
Senior guard Amy Kame of women's basketball has been named the USD Muscle Milk Student Athlete of the Week for the week of February 10th to February 16th. Kame had one of the most impressive performances of her storied career at USD in leading the Toreros to victory on Senior Day in her final home game.
The Toreros entered the game with 19 wins and were looking to secure their third consecutive 20 win season facing Portland in the final regular season home game of the year. After being honored with her three fellow seniors playing their final home game as Toreros, Kame went to work dominating the Pilots in every aspect of the game. Kame finished with 22 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists, and 5 steals. She recorded game-highs in all four categories as the Toreros cruised to a 59-52 win.
The Toreros finished the 2013-14 regular season an amazing 14-1 in the friendly confines of the Jenny Craig Pavilion. Kame and the Toreros will now face three road games to finish the regular season before heading to Las Vegas for the West Coast Conference Tournament.
