Meet the Toreros: Kat Olczak
Sept. 12, 2017

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Rounding out the newcomer for the 2017-18 USD women's basketball team is Kat Olczak, a 6'7" transfer from Poland.

Olczak just completed her freshman year at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College in Miami, Oklahoma. Olczak completes an outstanding recruiting class that includes a trio of incoming freshmen - Kendall Bird (6-2 F, White River HS in Buckley, Wash.), Myah Pace (5'10" G, Bishop O'Dowd HS in Oakland, Calif.) and Sydney Hunter (6'0" G, McNary HS in Keizer, Ore.).

This past season Kat helped Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College to a 23-2 record and national ranking of 10th among junior colleges in the country. The team advanced to the Junior College National Tournament where they advanced to the second round before falling to Trinity Valley.

Also recruited by Liberty University, Kat chose USD for the school's strong academics, quality basketball program, and the chemistry she had with teammates and the coaching staff. An outstanding student with a 3.63 grade-point average, Olczak plans to major in Business.
