SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Junior guard Amy Kame of the University of San diego women's basketball team has been named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday morning.

Kame, a 6-0 guard from Grand Junction Colo., had one of the best all-around performances of her career this past week, as she helped pace USD to a 2-0 record to move the Toreros to 5-1 on the year. She led the Torero scoring effort with an average of 17.5 ppg, while also averaging 9.0 rebounds-per-game, 8.0 steals-per-game, and 7.0 assists-per-game. She began the week with a 18-point, 8-rebound, 7-assist and career-high nine steals performance in a win over Boise State. She then followed that up with a double-double of 17 points, 10 rebounds, and she added in seven assists and recorded seven steals in a blowout win over Air Force. For her efforts, she was not only named the Air Force Tournament's MVP, but she has been named the Madness West Coast Women's Player of the Week. On the season, Kame paces USD's scoring with an average of 16.8 ppg, while also leading the rebounding effort at 7.0 rpg.

Kame and the Toreros will return to action on Tuesday, when they host Point Loma Nazarene in a 7 p.m. non-conference game inside of the friendly confines of the Jenny Craig Pavilion.
