USD won three of their four races on the day.

AUSTIN, TX - The USD women's rowing team was in action on Friday afternoon at the Longhorn Invitational on Lady Bird Lake in Austin, TX. The Toreros won three of their four races on the first day of competition, as the V8 highlighted the day by winning their race against Tulsa.
In the final race of the afternoon, USD's V8 finished in 6:44.1, in front of Tulsa's 6:49.4. The Toreros earned 10 points with the win.
Prior to that, the Toreros' 2V8 edged Tulsa by just over three seconds, finishing in 6:57.6, while the Golden Hurricanes' boat came in at 7:00.9.
USD's V4 also got in on the winning action by clocking a 7:52.1 that bested Tulsa's 7:56.9.
The novice eight was the only boat to race against an opponent other than Tulsa as the Toreros finished behind Texas with a time of 7:24.2, while the Longhorns came in at 7:11.7.
With the three victories on the day, USD joins Texas atop the points standings with 20 points overall after one day of action. The point totals after Saturday's afternoon session will be used to determine racing lineups for Sunday's competition.
The Toreros are back in action on Saturday morning when they kick things off with the novice eight going up against Oklahoma at 8:50 am CT, followed by the afternoon session beginning at 6:20 pm CT where USD will face Kansas State.
