Day Two Results
Sunday Heat Schedule
(Indianapolis, IN) - On Day Two of the 2014 NCAA Division I Rowing Championships at the Indianapolis Rowing Center at Eagle Creek Park, all three USD boats placed in the top-3 of their respective C/D Semifinal heats. With their strong performances today, all three Torero boats advance to Sunday's C Final (places 13-18) with hopes of more solid racing and of reaching their goal of finishing in the top sixteen in the country. The Toreros were paced by the Varsity Eight I today as they placed first with an impressive open water finish over their competition, while the Varsity Eight II and Varsity Four each placed a solid third in their five-team heats.
"I think that winning the semi-final race today proves that USD women's rowing isn't here at NCAA's just because of the automatic qualifier," said Torero senior Brianna Lamb, a member of the Varsity Eight I. "We are here because we really are fast enough to be in the Sweet 16 and we are here to prove something. This is an incredible experience for our team and we are going to prove we deserve to be here racing with the top dogs. This is a whole team effort and I'm really proud of the results from our boats. We are all really excited about placing top 3 in all boats today, and tomorrow should be an extremely exciting day of racing."
