CRCA Scholar Athletes

SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- Five members of the USD women's rowing team were named Scholar Athletes by the College Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA). Megan Goodman, Meredith Hoggatt, Morgan Lester, Vada Thomas and Karli Wittenberg all received the honor after holding a 3.5 cumulative GPA.

Goodman, Hoggatt and Lester earned the recognition for the third time in their careers. It was the second time Wittenberg has been honored and Vada Thomas, who just finished her sophomore season, was recognized for the first time.

Goodman and Hoggatt were also named to the All-WCC team for their athletic accomplishments. Goodman holds a 3.62 cumulative as an international relations and spanish double major. Hoggatt has an impressive 3.84 GPA as a mechanical engineering major.

Lester, a finance major, holds a 3.56 cumulative GPA. Wittenberg, who earned this honor last year, has a 3.61 GPA as a biochemistry student, and Thomas, who has yet to declare her major, has a 3.50 GPA.
