Toreros Beat Missouri 2-1 in Extra Time

Caitlyn Kretzschmar scored the game-winning goal in the 10th minute of the first overtime period.

FRESHMAN (2013): Appeared in all 20 matches while making 15 starts at defense... Scored two goals and recorded two assists... Attempted six shots and put two on goal... Scored game-winning goal in overtime in Toreros 2-1 win over Missouri (9/8/13)... Scored in USD's 2-1 win over LMU (10/17/13)... Tallied an assist in season opener against San Jose State (8/23/13) and at Cal State Northridge (9/22/13)... Named to Kansas Invitational All-Tournament Team... Helped Toreros record five shutouts.

FRESHMAN (2012): Redshirted at USD

HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Played soccer at Folsom High a senior, she scored four goals in helping lead her team to a 15-1-3 overall record en route to a Delta River League/Sac-Joaquin Section championship, and a final No. 2 ranking by Max a senior she was also a first-team All-League a junior, she was a second-team All-League performer...also played volleyball at Folsom...placed club soccer for the Placer United...the club team posted an overall record of 22-12-5, while only allowing 17 goals scored against, and reaching a ranking as high as No. 2 in Northern California...she also helped lead the team to a second place finish in the State Cup, and the team reached the Region IV championships.

PERSONAL: Caitlyn Eileen Kretzschmar was born on March 17, 1994 in Sacramento, Calif....she is the daughter of Dawn Lockwood and Gary Kretzschmar...was also recruited by James Madison, Idaho and UC Riverside...she chose to attend USD because of the academic reputation, the outstanding soccer program, great coaching staff and because she is excited to live in San Diego and be near the beach...her father Gary played soccer at UCLA...notes she loves to both read and surf.
