Senior Emily Dillon and Freshman Jacqueline Altschuld Named to NSCAA All-West Region Team
SENIOR (2013): Started all 20 matches at forward and led the team in every offensive category... Dillon led the team in points (23), goals (nine), assists (five), shots (64), shots on goal (40), and shot on goal percentage (.625)... Tied a school-record with five game-winning goals... Was named to the All-WCC First Team... Picked to NSCAA All-West Region Second Team... Attempted a shot in every match except one... Scored two goals in Toreros 3-1 win over Cal State Northridge (9/1/13)... Had one goal and one assist in Toreros 5-1 win over San Jose State (8/23/13)... Recorded a goal and an assist in Toreros 2-1 win over LMU (10/17/13)... Scored game-winning goal in Torero wins against UC Irvine (8/30/13), Cal State Northridge (9/1/13), at San Francisco (10/12/13), LMU (10/17/13), and Saint Mary's (11/7/13)... Was named to WCC All-Academic team.
JUNIOR (2012): Played in 19 matches, with 17 starts as a forward for the Toreros...tied for the team-lead in goals scored with three, while leading the team with five assists for a team-best 11 points...scored one goal against Pepperdine (8/17/12)...scored the game-winning goal against Texas A&M (8/22/12)...scored one goal against Portland (10/19/12)...recorded an assist against Washington State (9/31/12)...recorded two assists against USC (9/14/12)...recorded one assist against BYU (10/25/12)...recorded one assist against Gonzaga (11/2/12).
SOPHOMORE (2011): Played at West Virginia University...helped lead the team to the Big East Championship...played in 22 matches as a forward...scored five goals, one a game-winner, and added in two assists for 12 points.
FRESHMAN (2010): Played at West Virginia University... Appeared in 20 matches, starting the Central Michigan match...recorded one goal and one assist on the season...first career goal came against Connecticut...first career assist in a match at Cincinnati...helped lead the team to the Big East Championship.
HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Played high school soccer at Long Beach Wilson...she was a 2-year captain...she was named the Moore League Player of the Year twice...was named to the Press Telegram's Dream Team for two years...she was a high school All-American as a senior...she was the Moore League Offensive Player of the Year twice...played club soccer for the Slammers FC...while with the Slammers FC, the team was the Cal-South National Cup Winners five times, the Region IV Winners three times, National Finalists once, and Surf Cup Champions six times.
PERSONAL: Emily Dillon was born on September 2, 1992 in Long Beach, Calif....she is the daughter of Dale and Maureen Dillon...chose to transfer to USD because the university has a great academic reputation and an outstanding women's soccer program, plus the campus is beautiful, and the team has awesome chemistry... her father Dale played basketball at Long Beach State, and her sister Alli played volleyball at USC...notes that her brother was on this past season of the Bachelorette, and that she has awful eyesight...she also played high school soccer with former USD defender Dani Russell.
