SOPHOMORE (2014): Played in all 20 matches with 19 starts…scored four goals and added in four assists for 12 points…helped lead USD into the NCAA Tournament…took 12 shots, six on goal…scored the game-winning goal against No. 20 San Diego State (9/19/14)…scored the game-winning goal, and had one assist against No. 10 Michigan (8/29/14)…scored a goal against BYU (10/3/14)…scored one goal against Portland (10/12/14)…recorded one assist against Santa Clara (10/26/14)…recorded one assist against Pacific (10/30/14)…recorded one assist against Loyola Marymount (11/8/14).
FRESHMAN (2013): Appeared in 13 matches off the bench... Attempted one shot, which was on goal, at San Francisco.
FRESHMAN (2012): Redshirted at USD.
HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Academy of our Lady of Peace...was a three-year varsity starter...as a junior and senior, was named her team's MVP...as a junior was named second-team All-Western League, s she helped her team reach the CIF semi finals...as a junior, named All-CIF...as a senior, scored 19 goals, and had five assists...as a senior was named first-team All-Western League, and helped her team reach the CIF quarter finals...also lettered in track and tennis...was part of the 4X100 relay team that set a new school record...was the team captain of the tennis team her senior season.
CLUB: Played club soccer for Notts Forest Football Club...helped lead her team to the Notts Forest National Cup semifinals in 2012.
PERSONAL: Julia Abigail Sherwood was born on Dec. 27, 1993 in San Diego, Calif....she is the daughter of Lee and Jeanie Sherwood...chose to attend USD because of the excellent academic environment, the elite soccer program, as well as the USD student body community...notes she enjoys spending time with her siblings, playing tennis, skimboarding, reading and hiking with her parents.
