SENIOR (2013): Appeared in three matches off the bench before suffering a season-ending knee injury... Scored a goal in second match of the season against USC (8/25/13)... Attempted two shots (both on goal)... Despite injury, continued to provide leadership and support throughout the season.
JUNIOR (2012): Played in 19 matches with three starts, while rotating between the midfield and forward positions...took three shots, two of them on frame...helped the team post six shutouts.
SOPHOMORE (2011): Played in 10 matches as a forward for the Toreros...took one shot against Cal State Fullerton (9/22/11)... helped lead the team to the program's first WCC championship, and into the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
FRESHMAN (2010): Played in 17 matches with nine starts...scored three goals and added in two assists for eight points...scored the game winning goal against USC (9/20/10)...scored one goal and one assist against Arizona (9/2710)...scored one goal in a 4-1 win against San Francisco (10/15/10)...tallied one assist in a 1-0 win over USC (10/1/10) ...helped the Toreros earn an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament.
HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Earned four varsity letters in soccer while playing at Valhalla High School...she led her team in scoring all four years...was named first-team All-CIF San Diego Section II as a junior, and took home second-team honors as a sophomore...was named first-team All-Grossmont South League as a sophomore and junior...was an All-Grossmont South League honorable mention as a freshman...helped lead her team to the CIF finals as a freshman...was a 2006 Cal South ODP Player Pool selection...played club soccer for the San Diego Surf...she helped her club team win the Presidio League Championship in 2007, 2008, and 2009, helped the team win the 2007 GU18 College Cup Championship, the 2007 GU16 Surf Cup Champions, the 2008 GU16 Red Bull National Champions, helped the team reach the 2008 GU18 Far West Regional Championships, among other accomplishments.
PERSONAL: Devany Savage was born on November 1, 1992 in Tustin, Calif....she is the daughter of Nesha Savage and Dennis Savage...she was heavily recruited by Loyola Marymount, Saint Mary's, University of Indiana, University of Nevada, Reno, Virginia Tech, Long Beach State, Marshall University, West Point, High Point University, Northwestern University...chose to attend USD because of the outstanding soccer program and academic opportunities USD has to offer, as well as the location in San Diego, its close to home, the coaching staff, the girls on the soccer team, the team chemistry, and the beautiful campus and atmosphere.
