Toreros Drop Season-Opener to Pepperdine

USD newcomers Emily Dillon and Meggie Gulczynski each scored a goal for USD in the 4-2 loss.

FRESHMAN (2011): Played in nine matches as a midfielder...helped lead the team to the program's first WCC championship, and into the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament...took two shots, one of them on goal...took shots against Cal State Fullerton (9/22/11) and San Francisco (9/9/11).

HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Earned four letters in soccer while playing soccer at the Academy of Holy Angels...took home two All-Missota Conference honors as a freshman and sophomore...helped her team in the league championship as a sophomore, while scoring 12 goals and adding in eight assists...as a freshman, she scored 14 goals and added in six assists...she served as an assistant coach in both her junior and senior season, while also being team captain...also lettered in track and field and was an All-Conference selection 100m hurdles and was an All-Conference honorable mention in the 300m hurdles...played club soccer for the Eden Prairie United u18...she helped her team post a 9-0-4 record and win the Midwest Regional League & State Cup in 2011...helped her team win the 2010 state cup...Minnesota ODP State Team from 2007-2010 - won ODP Regionals in 2008...Member of the ODP Region II Team from 2007-2010...Member of the US Youth National Team camps from ages U14-U17...NSCAA All-American Team - 2008 and 2009.

PERSONAL: Olivia Victoria Schultz was born on May 17, 1993 in Seattle Washington...she is the daughter of Rose Ann Riesgo and Tom Schultz...was also recruited by Notre Dame, South Carolina, and Minnesota...has a younger stster Vivien Schultz...chose to attend USD because the university fit all the criteria that she was looking for in a school - education, sports, and location.
