Toreros defeat Brown 1-0

TUCSON, Ariz. - For the second straight match, Natalie Vinti scored lifting the Toreros to a 1-0 win and extending their streak to two matches as No. 21 University of San Diego defeated the Brown Bears Sunday morning at the Marriott University Park soccer tournament hosted by University of Arizona.
With the win, San Diego improves to 5-2-1 on the season while Brown falls to 0-3.
Defender Natalie Vinti scored in the 61st minute for San Diego. Deep in San Diego territory, Hallie Huston connected with Stephanie Ochs on a transition ball. Ochs got around the Bears dishing the ball off to Vinti who sprinted 90 yards down the field past all of Brown's backfield and side footed a ball past goalkeeper Steffi Yellin
"The Torero seniors had a very strong week," said head coach Ada Greenwood. "Vinti came through in a big way for us and I am proud of the whole team's performance."
The Toreros continue their road schedule as they prepare this week to travel to Lawrence Kansas for the Kansas Invitational. San Diego will face host Kansas on Friday, September 18 followed by Missouri State on Sunday, September 20.
