SAN DIEGO - San Diego has won its past two matches and will look to continue its strong play this weekend when it hosts a pair of conference opponents.
The Toreros (3-8, 1-0 WCC) open the weekend against Saint Mary's (6-6, 2-0 WCC) on Thursday at 7 p.m. (PT) before taking on Pacific (4-7-1, 1-1 WCC) on Saturday at 7 p.m.
Both games will be streamed on TheW.tv and live statistics will be available via USDToreros.com.
LAST TIME OUT
USD opened conference play with a thrilling 2-1 victory at BYU this past Friday. It was the Toreros first victory against the Cougars since Oct. 29, 2011, and snapped a five-game losing streak against BYU. The win was the first conference victory of head coach Louise Lieberman's career.
Amber Michel made a career-high 11 saves to help lead an outstanding defensive effort. Her 11 stops eclipsed her previous career high of 10, set earlier this season against Texas A&M (Aug. 20).

MASON LEADS THE OFFENSE
Summer Mason has established herself as an elite target up top for the Toreros and leads the team with nine points on four goals and an assist. She utilizes her speed and quick change of pace to evade defenders and set up opportunities for USD in the final third.
USD's defense has been strong and a key component to keeping the Toreros within striking distance in each game.
Michel has registered four or more saves in 7-of-11 games this season, including a career-best 11 stops at BYU (Sept. 29). She made seven saves in the first half at CSUN (Sept. 24) - a career best for one half.
The Toreros backline - consisting primarily of Emma Barrow, Courtney Coate, Natalie Copenhaver, Abby King and Tara Meier - have done well to limit the opposition's attack through the center of the field and push attackers out wide.
SAINT MARY'S SERIES HISTORY
The Toreros are 15-10 all-time against Saint Mary's but have dropped the past two contests. USD's most recent victory against the Gaels was a 3-2 decision on Nov. 1, 2014, in Moraga, California.
Saint Mary's is riding a three-game winning streak after closing nonconference play with a victory at UC Davis, then earning a pair of conference wins at home this past weekend against Portland and Gonzaga.
PACIFIC SERIES HISTORY
USD is 8-1 all-time against Pacific and have won six consecutive meetings against the Tigers. The Toreros earned a 2-1 double-overtime victory last year in Stockton, California.
Pacific split a pair of WCC decisions last weekend, falling to Gonzaga before bouncing back with a win against Portland.
LIEBERMAN'S FIRST SEASON
Head coach Louise Lieberman is in her first season as a head coach with USD during 2017. She is the fourth head coach in program history.
Lieberman joined the Toreros after serving as the assistant head coach at UCLA for the past eight seasons. While with the Bruins, she helped lead the team to seven NCAA Tournament appearances, two College Cup appearances and the 2013 NCAA Championship - the first in program history.
Lieberman was a four-year letterwinner as a player at UCLA from 1995-98, and was a second-time All-Pac-12 selection in 1995. She helped the Bruis claim its first two Pac-12 championships in 1997 and 1998.
