SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Senior forward Stephanie Ochs of the University of San Diego women's soccer team has been named to Top Drawer Soccer's National team of the Week after helped lead USD to a win over UC Irvine in the first round of the NCAA Tournament this past week.
Ochs, the West Coast Conference Player of the Year, was shining once again for the Toreros this past week, as she recorded a pair of assists in USD's 2-2 tie with UC Irvine in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Ochs then has the pleasure of recording the final goal of the shootout for the Toreros that ended UC Irvine's season and lifted USD into the second round. Ochs leads the team in goals scored with eight, and she also has recorded a team-best 13 assists for a team-best 29 points.
Ochs and the Toreros will head to Los Angeles this Friday to compete against second-seeded UCLA in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in a 7:30 p.m. match at Drake Stadium.
