SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Senior defender Dani Russell of the University of San Diego women's soccer team has been selected to the NSCAA All-West Region third-team. This is the first time in her Torero career, Russell has earned this honor.
Russell, a 5-8 defender from Long Beach, Calif., helped pace the Toreros offense and defense this season. Russell recorded, a career-high four goals this season, while adding in one assist for nine points. Russell scored goals against Minnesota (8-24), San Francisco (9-29), Loyola Marymount (10-7) and against Gonzaga (11-2). She tallied her one assist in the season-finale against Gonzaga (11-2). For her efforts this season, Russell was named first-team All-WCC.
