Senior (2015: Started 51 games at first base... Earned All-WCC Honorable Mention... Hit .226 with one home run, six doubles, and 12 RBI... Second on team in average (,324) and total bases (19) in WCC games... Third on team in slugging (.514) and on-base percentage (.390) in WCC games... Committed just three errors and had .992 fielding percentage, good for the fifth best in USD history... Went 2-3 with a double and three RBI against Montana (Feb. 13)... Went 2-2 with a double and two RBI against Santa Clara (Apr. 18)... Finished her career with the highest fielding percentage in school history (.991)... Her 25 career doubles are the tenth most in program history... Helped USD win 105 games in her four years, the most of any recruiting class under Coach McElvain.
Junior (2014): Named 1st-Team All-WCC... Started all 47 games at first base...Hit .271 with one home run 16 RBI and six doubles... Led team with .375 average and .423 on-base percentage during conference games... Posted perfect 1.000 fielding percentage and now has best career fielding percentage in USD history (.991)... Second on team with nine walks... Had eight multi-hit games.
Sophomore (2013): Named 2nd Team All-PCSC... Ranked third in the NCAA in Toughest to Strikeout, averaging one K per 48.7 at-bats... Only struck out three times in 146 at-bats overall... Hit .281 with a triple and 12 RBI... Her nine doubles tied for the team lead... Had the highest fielding pct. (.990) on the team among regulars... Was second on the team with 12 multi-hit games on the year... Named to the PCSC Commissioner's Honor Roll (3.13 GPA).
Freshman (2012): Played in 31 games during her first season as a Torero, making 27 starts... An injury cut her season short... Hit .289 overall with four doubles, four home runs and 14 RBI in 83 at bats... Named to the PCSC Commissioner's Honor Roll with a 3.19 GPA.
High School: Attended Valencia High School where she earned four varsity letters for head coach Donna Lee... Named All-Foothill League honorable mention as a senior... Earned her team's Most Valuable Offensive Player honors as a junior and Most Valuable Defensive Player honors as a sophomore and senior... Participated in the Daily News All-Star game as a senior... Her team was CIF SS Division I champions during her freshman year... Named second-team All-Foothill League as a junior... Named a scholar-athlete all four years of her career... Also completed with the California Raiders club team.
Personal: Born March 10, 1993 in Lancaster, Calif.... Parents are Michael and Katrina Rooney... Chose USD because it was the most beautiful campus she visited, its academic reputation, and the softball and campus facilities were impressive... Also recruited by Rutgers, Loyola Marymount, and Sacramento State... Her father played baseball at Cal Lutheran where he was coached by current USD baseball coach Rich Hill.
