SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The University of San Diego softball team dropped a 0-1 decision to the Flames of the University of Illinois-Chicago Sunday afternoon in the final game of the USD Softball Invitational.
The Toreros allowed the single run in the second inning on a single to left field with two runners on. Both teams had numerous opportunities to score again. USD had runners in scoring position six times in the late innings but was unable to bring a run around to tie or take the lead.
USD returns to the diamond on the road at the UC Riverside Invitational tournament on February 16 and 17 when they face UC Riverside, Creighton, and Northern Colorado.
