Riverside, CA - The University of San Diego softball team defeated San Jose State, 3-1 in the final day of play at the UC Riverside Invitational Sunday morning.
The Torero victory put them at .500 with a 2-2 record. San Jose State also moves to 2-2 with the loss.
San Diego jumped off to a quick start when in the top of the second inning Nichole Valenzuela singled. Ashlee Nunes hit a ground ball down the right side of the field for a triple scoring Valenzuela and taking a 1-0 lead. San Jose State quickly responded in the bottom half of the inning tying the game 1-1.
