After losing a pitcher's duel in game one, the Toreros came back with an 8-0 victory in game two to earn a split with the University of Redlands this afternoon. USD improves to 4-7 on the season after the split. In the first game, San Diego's Erin Harmonson pitched seven scoreless innings before allowing two runs in the 8th inning. The Bulldogs' Lindsay Sutton scattered five Torero singles over eight innings to earn the shutout.

In game two, USD's Christina Haake carried a perfect game into the sixth and finished with a two-hit shutout. The Torero offense broke the game open scoring five unearned runs in the fourth. Kim Delpit, Ashlee Nunes, Marissa Merchain and Rebekah Bradford each had two hits on the day for San Diego. Six different players scored for USD, with Nunes and Cindy McGee each scoring twice. The second game ended in the sixth with McGee scoring on a ground ball error.

The Toreros return home on Wednesday, February 25th to take on cross-town rival San Diego State at the USD Softball Complex. The game is set to begin at 5:00 pm.
