SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Despite another strong pitching outing by Jenny Lahitte, the USD softball team was unable to come up with the big hit in a 1-0 loss to Bryant University on Sunday afternoon from the USD Softball Complex.

This was Lahitte's third-straight start where she has only allowed one run. She is 1-2 over that span, taking the loss on Sunday despite throwing 7.0 innings where she allowed only one run on three hits while striking out nine.

There wasn't a lot of offense on either side in a game that lasted just one hour and 25 minutes. The Toreros (9-12) scattered eight hits and turned in some competitive at-bats, but couldn't drive in the runs when the opportunities presented themselves.

Bryant (2-3) got on the board in the top of the first with an RBI single that gave the Bulldogs an early 1-0 lead.

From that point on it was very quiet for both teams offensively. The Toreros finally got runners in scoring position in the bottom of the fourth with runners on second and third with one out but consecutive flyouts stranded the runners.

Lauren Tomey registered her fourth-straight multi-hit game as she went 2-for-3 on the day with a double, while Morgan Kurtz also tallied a 2-for-3 day at the plate for USD.

The Toreros return to the diamond on Tuesday, Mar. 12 for a 5 pm game against Iona at San Diego State's Aztec Softball Complex.
