SAN DIEGO, Calif. - University of San Diego sophomore RHP Jenny Lahitte was named Pacific Coast Softball Conference Coastal Division co-pitcher of the week, as announced by the conference on Tuesday. Lahitte (Alpine, Calif. - Granite Hills HS) put together a flawless ERA in her 7.2 innings of work over three appearances in USD's three games this past week. On the week, Lahitte went 1-0 with a save, allowing only three hits and tallying 10 strikeouts, while walking two and holding opposing hitters to a .143 avg.
She picked up her team-leading sixth win against Quinnipiac on Mar. 16 after going 5.0 innings, allowing only two hits, while striking out eight in the 9-0 USD victory. She followed that up against Valparaiso by entering the game with no outs and the bases loaded in the sixth inning and preserving the Toreros' 1-0 lead to pick up her second save of the year, also a team best.
Lahitte threw 0.2 innings in USD's 3-2 loss to Quinnipiac on Mar. 14, allowing no hits or runs and striking out one.
Overall on the year, Lahitte (6-5) is second in the PCSC with 79 strikeouts and boasts a 2.57 ERA in a team-leading 68.0 innings of work.
This is the second pitcher of the week honor this season for Lahitte, who previously earned the recognition on Mar. 5, and third of her career. This week she shared the honor with Loyola Marymount's Molly Medeiros.
