• Seven Toreros Earn All-WCC Honors


    Seven members of the USD Softball team earned All-WCC honors, the conference office announced Thursday afternoon. Rightfielder Kailey Hill was named WCC Freshman of the Year and was selected to the first team. Senior first baseman and Caitlin Rooney and freshman pitcher Paige von Sprecken made the second team and Chloe Kaneko, Morgan Kurtz, Danielle Mavridis, and Tatum Schultz were honorable mention selections.

    Three members of the USD softball team were named to the WCC's All-Academic team. Junior shortstop Danielle Mavridis and sophomore outfielder Olivia Sandusky both were recognized, and junior pitcher Grace Hernandez earned honorable mention.

    Junior shortstop Danielle Mavridis was named to the Capital One Academic All-District Team Thursday morning. Mavridis holds a 3.91 GPA as a mechanical engineering major, the highest of the 12 District Eight honorees.

  • Kailey Hill Named SDHOC Star of the Month


    Freshman rightfielder Kailey Hill (Ramona, Calif.) was named Star of the Month of April by the San Diego Hall of Champions. On top of posting a .486 (17-for-35) batting average in April, she also set a USD single-season record for home runs. She hit three home runs in April to raise her season total to 12, breaking the previous record of 11 set by Taylor Hensley in 2010.
