    Paige von Sprecken was named WCC Pitcher of the Week for third time this season, the conference office announced Monday afternoon. The freshman ace went 3-0 without allowing a single run in 19 innings pitched over the weekend, helping USD go a perfect 5-0 on their homestand.

  • USD Gets a Pair of Walk-Off Extra-Inning Wins


    The USD softball team won two extra-inning games walk-off style after their opponents committed critical errors Saturday. In game one, Paige von Sprecken tossed ten scoreless innings, allowing just two hits as USD won 1-0 after the Harvard shortstop dropped an infield pop-up. In game two, USD scored three unearned runs to knock off Columbia 3-2 after their leftfielder dropped a fly ball in the eighth inning. USD has now won six games in a row and improved to a season-high seven games above .500 (21-14).

  • Toreros Take Two from Columbia


    The USD Softball team (19-14) picked up two wins against Columbia Friday evening to extend their win streak to four games. Grace Hernandez and Megan Sabbatini combined for a three hit shutout in game one to help USD to a 6-0 win. In game two, Olivia Sandusky led off with an inside-the-park home run and USD went on to win 4-2.
