The University of San Diego swim and dive team opened up its season today with an intrasquad meet. The Blue Team consisted of Kristina Berge, Kelly Cobourn, Sydney Hodgkinson, Joy Miller, Rendy Opdycke, Jane Scrutton and Ashley Swart while the White Team was made up of Claire Altenau, Kym Baur, Nicole Draa, Kathleen Gallagher, Ashley Rose and Shala VanGerpen.
The Blue Team was led to a 51-35 victory by Ashley Swart, who won all three of her races, the 200 yard individual medley, 100 yard freestyle and 200 yard breaststroke. Kelly Cobourn and Rendy Opdycke added wins in the 200 yard freestyle and 500 yard freestyle, respectively. The Blue Team also added a win in the 400 yard medley relay with a team consisting of Berge, Swart, Miller and Cobourn.
Nicole Draa, Ashley Rose and Shala VanGerpen each won an event for the White Team. Draa won the 50 yard freestyle, Rose took the 200 yard backstroke and VanGerpen won the 200 yard butterfly. The White Team also put together a relay team of Draa, Baur, Rose and VanGerpen that won the 400 yard freestyle relay.
