USD Returns to Conference Play on Friday at San Francisco
Sophomore (2013-2014): Posted a 1-3 overall singles record and a 1-3 overall doubles mark in the fall season.
Freshman (2013): Morkel-Brink went 2-5 in singles and 1-4 in doubles during the spring of 2013... Did not compete during the Fall... Played at the No. 5 and 6 spot in the Toreros singles lineup... Partnered with Nicole Ramser and Stephanie Hoffpauir in doubles.
High School: Attended Herschel Girls School in Cape Town, South Africa where she played for Coach Dean Botha.
Personal: Known as Miki, she was born on November 26, 1994 in Johannesburg, South Africa... Daughter of Gerhard Morkel-Brink... Was also recruited by Winthrop, Texas Tech, Mississippi State, Florida State, Texas-Arlington, and Texas... Chose USD for the coaches, the location, for USD's renown business school, and to be a part of a successful program... She loves being outdoors and doing activities such as hiking, surfing, water-skiing, and snorkeling... Other than tennis her favorite sport to watch is rugby and track and field...
