MORAGA, Calif. - The No. 51 University of San Diego women's tennis team (7-7, 2-1) fell to No. 43 Saint Mary's (9-7, 4-0) 5-0 in a WCC showdown for first place. The Toreros came to Moraga on a four match win streak, but the Gaels proved to be too much and now hold a 4-0 WCC record.

The Gaels were able to take the doubles point after winning at the No. 2 and 3. Catherine Isip and Audrey Leitz won 8-6 over Cara Brown and Marta Stojanovic at the No. 2, and Jade Frampton and Elizabeth Searl earned an 8-3 victory over Mikayla Morkel-Brink and Nicole Ramser. Laura Claus and Shani Blecher, who entered the doubles rankings at No. 58 today, had their match go unfinished.

The Gaels were able to win singles at the No. 1 and 2 spots. No. 17 Jenny Julian knocked off No. 108 Laura Claus 6-4, 6-2 at the No. 1 and Catherine Isip beat Stephanie Hoffpauir 6-2, 6-0 at the No. 2 spots. The Gaels got their last two points after Shani Blecher and Anna Depenau were forced to retire at the No. 3 and 5 spots respectively.

After the long road trip, the Toreros will return to host BYU (7-7, 1-2) on Friday at 1:30 p.m.
