SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The No. 53 University of San Diego women's tennis team (9-9, 4-2) lost to Santa Clara (8-8, 4-1) 6-1 Saturday afternoon.

The Toreros lost the doubles point after losing at the No. 1 and 3 spots. The No. 2 doubles match went unfinished.

The Broncos would claim five of the six singles on their way to their fourth conference win. The 28th ranked Katie Le defeated Laura Claus, who is ranked No, 108 in singles, 6-3, 6-1 at the No. 1. Stephanie Hoffpauir fell 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-4) at the No. 2 and Anna Depenau lost as well 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 4.

The Broncos also snagged victories at the No. 5 and 6 spots, knocking off Mikayla Morkel-Brink and Cara Brown. The lone Toreros point came from Marta Stojanovic who won 7-5, 6-3 at the No. 3.

The Toreros return to action on Friday when they host LMU for a 1:30 p.m. match.
