SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The University of San Diego women's tennis team completed day three of competition at the USTA/ITA Southwest Regional Championships at Barnes Tennis Center on Saturday.
In doubles play, Laura Claus and Marta Stojanovic defeated UCLA's Catherine Harrison and Kyle McPhillips 8-6 in the round of 16 but then lost to USC's Zoe Scandalis and Gabi Desimone 8-4 in the quarterfinals.
In singles play, Cara Brown won three matches in the consolation draw between Friday and Saturday before having to withdraw in the semifinals. Idil Haciraifoglu also won three matches of her own in the consolation draw and will play in the semifinal on Sunday.
Victorsson lost her consolation singles match to Morgan McIntosh 6-2, 6-2 on Friday and fell to Rodriguez of Long Beach State 6-1, 6-3 in Saturday's lucky loser draw. Stojanovic also competed in the lucky loser on Saturday but lost to UCLA's Harrison 6-2, 3-6, 10-4.
Claus and Depenau will each play lucky loser matches on Sunday.
