Toreros Picked Third in WCC Preseason Poll

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The University of San Diego women's tennis team was picked to finish third the 2014 West Coast Conference preseason poll, which was released by the conference on Tuesday. The Toreros, who finished fourth in the WCC last season, received 61 points overall from conference coaches. 

No. 61 USD came in behind conference-favorite No. 37 Saint Mary's, who took home six first-place votes and 78 overall points and No. 48 Pepperdine with four first-place votes and 76 overall points. Santa Clara was voted fourth with 58 points, followed by BYU (45), San Francisco (44), Loyola Marymount (32), Gonzaga (20), and Portland (20). Rounding out the poll was Pacific (16) in tenth place.

The Toreros (0-2) return to action in their first home match against UC Santa Barbara, next Sunday, 10:00 a.m. at the Skip and Cindy Hogan Tennis Center.
