Senior Gillian Gorelik will look to take down another school record Thursday evening

Honors & Awards:
• WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll - 2012 & 2013
• Best Newcomer Award - 2010
• Set freshman 5k record in 2010 (17:57)

Junior (2012-13): Ran her top 5k time of the fall at the Bronco Invite (18:06)... Clocked a 22:50 (54th place) at the WCC Championships... Ran a 22:18 (148th place) at the NCAA Regional Championships... Also competed in the UC Riverside Invitational and Stanford Invite... In the spring track season, posted a personal best in the 1500m at the SDSU Aztec Invite (4:42.46) and in the 800m at the UCSD Triton Invite (2:17.68)... Named to the WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll with a 3.49 GPA.

Sophomore (2011-12): Had her best 5k time of 18:25.2 at the Bronco Invite... Finished in 34th place at the WCC Championships with a 6k run of 22:41... Clocked a 6k time of 23:32 (183rd place) at the NCAA Western Regionals... Also competed in the UC Riverside Invitational (6k; 22:10.8) and Stanford Invite (6k; 23:24)... In the spring, competed mostly in the 1500m, running a season-best 4:49.12 at the Point Loma Collegiate Meet... Also competed in the 1000m, one mile, 800m, 5000m and distance medley during the track season... Named to the WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll with a 3.48 GPA.

Freshman (2010-11): Received the 2010 Best Newcomer Award in her freshman year...She broke the freshman record in the 5k with a 17:57...Also named to the 2010-11 WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll with a 3.53 GPA.

High School: Attended Park City High School where she was a four-year varsity letterman in cross country and track...Was also a one-year varsity letterman in soccer...Her senior year in track won state in the 800M, 1600m and 3200m, while helping her women's track team to a state championship...Also earned the MVP Gatorade Athlete of the Year Award...She was named team Most Valuable Player in all four-years as a track athlete...Junior year broke the school record in the 3 mile on the state course and placed second in state, while contributing to a team state championship...Sophomore year place fifth at state meet and helped team to a third place state finish...Freshman year received the team Best Newcomer Award and assisted team to state championship title.

Personal: Born on November 28, 1991, in Salt Lake City, UT...Parents are Tina Quayle and Robert Gorelik...She chose to attend USD for the coaching staff, academic opportunities and beautiful location...Was also recruited by Lehigh University, Northwestern, Air Force Academy, Northern Arizona University and University of Colorado-Boulder...In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and going to the beach...Her favorite animals are grizzly bears and wolves.
