  • Toreros Spike it up at Occidental

USD kicked off the spring season on Friday at Occidental Distance Carnival. The meet marked the collegiate outdoor track debut of freshmen Samantha Mattice and Julie Giannini, who did not disappoint by finishing 11th and 13th in the 5000 meters. Their times were strong enough to break the USD Freshman 5km record and also clock an important qualifying mark for the USA Junior outdoor track Nationals. They both shattered their own personal bests marks as well.
