FRESHMAN (2011)

Played in 19 matches as a true freshman...came on late in the season and got a lot of playing time, as she recorded seven kills in the first round of the NCAA Tournament against Long Beach State (12/2/11)...recorded a season-high eight kills in a loss to Pepperdine (11/19/11)...recorded a season-high three blocks against Long Beach State (11/2/11)...helped lead the team to the second round of the NCAA Tournament... helped lead the team to the best overall record in program history at 28-5.

HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB

Played varsity volleyball at Edison High School for two seasons...as a senior, she was named first-team All-CMAC and was the team's best offensive player after helping guide her team to its first-ever Valley Championship with a perfect 10-0 record in league lay...as a junior, she was named first-team All-CMAC...also played and lettered in basketball where she was a three-time team MVP as well as a first-team All-CMAC selection...played club volleyball for the Asics Sports City 18-1.

Alaysia Marie Brown was born on July 5, 1993 in Gardena, Calif....she is the daughter of Freda Fowler and Kasey Brown...was heavily recruited by Rice, San Francisco, Oregon State, Tulane, University of Texas at El Paso, Columbia, New Mexico State, Cleveland State, and San Diego State...chose to attend USD because of the education, the outstanding volleyball program, and surroundings...notes that she had a 4.25 GPA in high school, and was her class Valedictorian.
