Named a AVCA All-American Honorable... Second on the team with 273 kills and held the highest hitting percentage of .410... Recorded 69 total blocks on the season which was also second on the team... Had 14 kills against UC Irvine while hitting .636 (9/8).

JUNIOR (2015)

Played in 114 sets as a middle blocker for the Toreros...helped lead USD into the second round of the NCAA Tournament...led the team with 122 total blocks, which ranks 10th best in USD history for a single-season...she also had 104 block assists, which ranks tied for fifth on the USD single-season record list...she also recorded 210 kills, while hitting for a .263 clip...recorded a career-high 18 kills in a win against Pepperdine (9/9/15)...recorded 10 kills against Dartmouth (9/5/15), Gonzaga (10/17/15), Santa Clara (11/21/15), and Gonzaga (11/12/15)...recorded a career-high 8.0 blocks in a win against Colorado (8/28/15)...recoded 7.0 blocks in a win against Oregon State (9/4/15)...recorded 7.0 blocks against Loyola Marymount...recorded 6.0 blocks on five occasions.

FRESHMAN (2013)

Played in seven matches as a middle hitter... recorded five kills and had two blocks in eight total sets played... helped lead USD to the best season in program history, as USD defeated No. 1 USC, then moved up to No. 2 in the national polls, marking highest ranking for any team in USD division I history...she helped lead USD to the WCC championship...helped lead USD into the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.

HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB

Prepped at Rapid City Central High School...was a three-year letter winner in volleyball...as a senior, she led the state in hitting percentage (.458), total blocks (180), blocks-per-game (2.81) and kills-per-game (5.03)...she was recognized as the Journal Athlete of the Day twice, and Athlete of the Week two times as well...as a junior, she recorded 143 kills, had 62 total blocks en route to being selected the Best in the West second-team distinction, and a Greater Dakota Conference second-team selection...she played club volleyball for the Black Hills Juniors...her club accomplishments include playing in the Girls National JO's Tournament in 2012, winning the Lion and the Lamb Tournament in Omaha, Neb., and placing second at the Sioux Falls Tournament...she was also a letter winner in basketball and track at RCCHS.

PERSONAL

Lauren Janene Schad was born on Jan. 6, 1995 in Rapid City, S.D....she is the daughter of Ralph and Laura Schad...she was also recruited by Montana State University-Bozeman; University of Texas-Pan American; North Dakota State University; Cornell and Univ. of South Dakota (track)...chose to attend USD because it has been a long time dream of hers to play volleyball on the West Coast, plus USD was the only school that offered a degree program she is interested in, an she will be closer to her older sister who are attending prestigious university's in Northern California.
