JUNIOR (2007): Played in 78 games and 27 of USD's 29 matches as an outside hitter...helped the team win a share of the WCC championship...recorded 191 kills (2.45 kpg), three service aces, 61 digs and 18 blocks, six solo...recorded a career-high 20 kills against Minnesota (9/2/07)...recorded 16 kills in a match against Ohio (9/1/07)...recorded 14 kills in a win against her former school UC Santa Barbara (9/7/07)...racked up 15 kills in back-to-back matches to close out the season in wins over Gonzaga (11/15/07) and Portland (11/17/07)...recorded a double-double with 15 kills and 11 digs in a win against UC Irvine (9/21/07).
SOPHOMORE (2006): Played in 13 matches...helped the team win the West Coast Conference championship...recorded 47 kills (1.62 kills per game), 44 digs, two total blocks and three service aces...recorded a season-high seven kills in a win against San Francisco (9/28/06)...recorded a season-best 10 digs in a win against San Francisco (9/28/06).
FRESHMAN at UC Santa Barbara (2005)
Appeared in 12 matches for the Gauchos of UC Santa Barbara...recorded 13 kills, three service aces' and 14 digs as a freshman.
Three-year varsity letterwinner at Fullerton Union High School...Ranked 89th nationally on PrepVolleyball.com's list of "Senior Aces" in 2004 when she was named first team All-CIF Division II...also earned All-CIF acclaim as a sophomore and junior...Freeway League MVP during each of her final two campaigns, as well as All-Orange County acclaim in 2004...selected as Fullerton High's Female Athlete of the Year as a senior...helped the Indians win their first-ever league title in 2002, then repeat as champions the next two seasons under coaches Wendy Vrolyk and Kolbe Khong...reached CIF Southern Section quarterfinals each year...Gained club experience with Southern California Volleyball Club, which placed fifth at the J.O. Nationals in 2004...Earned a AA beach volleyball ranking at age 16
Jaimarie Jae Sutherland was born on September 10, 1987 in Fullerton, Calif....the daughter of Matt and Cindy Sutherland, she has two older sisters - Tawny and Ashley...has yet to declare a major at USD...an avid photographer, she earned a PTSA Regional Photography Award...rocks out to the music of John Mayer, while Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World" is her favorite book...enjoys playing soccer and badminton
