LAS CRUCES, N.M. - The University of San Diego's Christie Dawson and Kristen Carlson were both named to the All-Tournament team at the Hilton Las Cruces Classic this past weekend after helping lead the Toreros to a 2-1 record at the Tournament.
Dawson earned the honor after putting together another strong performance as she recorded a team-leading 52 kills (4.33 kills per game) and had eight blocks, three solo blocks, and registered three service aces for the Toreros. Dawson posted an attack percentage of .376 over 12 total games played.
Carlson also turned in a solid performance in Las Cruces as she had 49 kills (5.44 kills per game) with seven service aces. Carlson had an attack percentage of .298 and racked up 28 digs. Carlson posted back-to-back double-doubles against the University of Wyoming and New Mexico State University in the opening two matches of the Tournament for USD.
The Toreros will return to action this Thursday as they play in their home opener at the Jenny Craig Pavilion against the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos in the opening match of the USD Invitational at 7 p.m.
