SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Senior middle hitter Chloe Ferrari of there ninth-ranked University of San Diego women's volleyball team has been tabbed the West Coast Conference Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday morning. Ferrari helped the Toreros to a perfect 3-0 record this past weekend to capture the championship of the USD Tournament. Ferrari recorded 31 kills, while hitting for an impressive .578 clip, and recorded eight digs and six blocks. This is the second consecutive week she has taken home this honor.
Ferrari helped lead USD to the biggest win in program history, a 3-1 win over top-ranked USC on Friday, and the Toreros' fourth win over a top-20 team this season. In this match, Ferrari was the driving force to USD winning, as she paced the team with 21 kills, while hitting for a .531 clip. The 21 kills ties a career-high for Ferrari. She followed that up with a four-kill performance against Eastern Washington, and then capped off the week with a perfect six kills on six swings to hit for a 1.000 clip against UC Santa Barbara in just two sets.
Ferrari and the Toreros will return to action on Tuesday at 7 p.m., as they host cross-town rival San Diego State in the final WCC tune-up at the Jenny Craig Pavilion.
