SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Sophomore outside hitter Sandra Lozic of the University of San Diego women's volleyball team has been named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday afternoon. Lozic now becomes the third Torero to earn this honor in the last four weeks.
Lozic, a 5-9 sophomore from Belgrade, Serbia, helped guide the Toreros to another perfect 2-0 record this past week, defeating Gonzaga 3-1 and sweeping LMU. Lozic paced the team's offense with 25 kills on 29 swings on the week, while only committing four errors to hit for a .444 clip. In Thursday's win over the Zags, Lozic led the team with 15 kills, while also recording five digs and hitting for a .379 clip. She then followed that up with a 10-kill performance and .562 clip in the sweep over LMU on Saturday.
Lozic and the red hot Toreros will return to action on Thursday, as they head to the Bay Area to take on the University of San Francisco in a 6:30 p.m. WCC match at War memorial Gym.
