SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Senior middle hitter Chloe Ferrari of the eighth-ranked University of San Diego women's volleyball team has been named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday morning. This is Ferrari's third WCC Player of the week award this season.
Ferrari, the WCC Player of the Month for both September and October, helped USD to a 2-0 record this past week, and helped the Toreros move into a tie for first place in the WCC standings. Ferrari led the team's offense with 37 kills, while hitting .414 clip, and tallied 10 total blocks, with two service aces, and six digs.
Ferrari began the week leading San Diego to a 3-1 road win against Santa Clara, recording 15 kills, while hitting .462 with six blocks. She then followed that performance up with a career-high 22 kills, on a career-best 44 swings, while hitting .386, and recording four blocks in a 3-2 come-from-behind road win against San Francisco. The win against the Dons extended USD's winning streak to a season-high 12, and officially moved USD into a tie for first place in the WCC standings.
Ferrari and the Toreros will return to action on Thursday, when they host the University of Portland in a 7 p.m. WCC match. This match has been deemed the WCC Match of the Week, and will air live on TheW.tv in full high definition.
